Premium Media Library Phase 5

Date: 2026-10-16

Implemented and audited#

  • Android Home, Songs, Albums, Artists, Folders, Playlists, Favorites, Recently Added, Recently Played, Videos,

Search, Network, and Settings continue to use the real local repositories and stable media identifiers.

  • Music and video libraries now provide accessible list/grid controls. The selected presentation is stored in

Android DataStore, included in local backup/restore, and shared by the library surfaces.

  • Desktop list/grid selection is now restored from the existing per-user SQLite settings table rather than being

reset whenever the application restarts.

  • Adaptive grids use stable media IDs and bounded thumbnail loading. Compact rows retain favorite and contextual

actions; missing artwork continues to use kind-specific local placeholders.

  • Bengali and mixed-language metadata are rendered as Unicode strings without transliteration or network lookup.
  • No online artist catalog, storefront, account, analytics, or remote artwork service was added.

Verification scope#

  • Shared and desktop tests, Android JVM unit tests, Detekt, desktop compilation, and Android debug assembly passed.
  • The backup instrumentation test now asserts list/grid preference restoration, but no emulator or Android device

was attached, so that instrumentation test and Android screenshot tests are not claimed as run.

  • Desktop visual inspection on macOS does not establish Windows/Linux rendering or keyboard accessibility results.
